A Touch of Feminism, Power, Powder, and Freedom.

Cindy Sherman an American fashion photographer, and feminist, (but not an activist by any means) is an artist I have researched in the past, but for other purposes. It came to me how she creates works that she wishes the audience to view with this viewpoint in mind.

The work is what it is and hopefully it’s seen as feminist work, or feminist-advised work,” Sherman once said. “But I’m not going to go round espousing theoretical nonsense about feminist stuff.”

(follow the link for the full article).

A lot of what Sherman has to say about her stance on art practice is relevent to how I want to approach this project, with a viewpoint of feminism, but not a commentary on the subject, rather the attributes.
